Organised by the Parish Council, which has a commitment to investigate a Neighbourhood Plan for Holbrook, the meeting is open to all residents, community organisations, property owners and businesses in Holbrook.
Neighbourhood Plans establish general planning policies for the development and use of land in the neighbourhood, such as where homes should be built and what they should look like. The plan could be as detailed or general as the residents of Holbrook want.
Neighbourhood Plans can decide where and what type of development should happen and include policies on aspects such as design standards, providing more detail on existing policies within the Local Plan.
The meeting, hosted by the Parish Council, will feature presentations from Babergh District Council on what can be achieved from a Neighbourhood Plan and how they fit alongside the Local Plan.
The purpose of the meeting is to enable the community to ask questions to help determine if producing a Neighbourhood Plan is right for Holbrook.
The production of a Neighbourhood Plan, which has legal standing in the planning process, will require input from volunteers across the Parish.
